Abstract

In order to show the relationship between the urban heat island (UHI) effect and the urban land-use objectively and put forward some constructive suggestions to reduce the UHI effect. In this paper, we chose the UHI effect and land-use in Kurosaki as the research object. With the help of GIS, we selected 17 observation points and calculated the Road Area Ratio, the Site Area Ratio and the Plot Area in the range of 500 meters. Then we choose three of the most typical days, are the highest-temperature day, the lowest –temperature day and the day that the temperature is neatest the average, from August 18th to September 28th in 2012. And combined with the actual temperature date processed from Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), we analyzed the relationship between the air-temperature and urban land-use. Results shown that the air-temperature will become higher, as the road and building take up more places. And in these three Ratio, the effect of the Road Area Ratio on air-temperature is the most significant. So, we should reduce the area of roads and buildings, especially roads, as far as possible.
