Abstract

In recent years, along with the "three rural issues (Problems about Agriculture,Rural areas and Peasantry)" by government and planning overall urban and rural tourist development, rural tourism in China blossoms rapidly. Located in Yangtze River and the Qiantang River downstream, Hangzhou relies on the advantageous of brand, location, resources and passenger source market. The development of rural tourism industry here is highly valued and welcomed by the governments at all levels, domestic and foreign investors, tourists as well as the urban and rural masses. It has received a good effect and gets a win-win situation. Yet there are still some problems that have seriously hampered the development of Hangzhou rural tourism, which are looming ahead and need efficient strategies to avoid them.
The paper is mainly concerned with the rural tourism industry in Hangzhou, including development status quo and existing problems, advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and challenges, as well as the ways to develop a constructional and all-around rural tourism so as to make the prospects for the rural tourism industry in Hangzhou. It puts emphasis on how to use its advantages and how to overcome the disadvantages to let Hangzhou become a diverse tourist metropolitan city boasting rich tourism resources and beautiful environment not only inside the city but in the rural area.
