Keywords:

At present, there is a general problem of low spatial efficiency in elder-care facilities, which should be solved in the research of institutional elder care. Most of elder-care facilities pay more attention to the improvement of the physical environment and the growth of living standards, however, the psychological and spiritual needs of the elderly are often ignored. Emotion has a substantial impact on the cognitive process and mental state of the elderly, therefore, correlational research is helpful to improve the spatial evaluation mechanism of elder-care facilities. This paper aims to optimize the spatial quality evaluation methods of such facilities, to summarize the existing evaluation methods, and to analyze the weak points in terms of reliability, validity and timeliness. This research attempts to reveal the influence mechanism of elder-care facilities' spatial layer form on people's emotional health, and to propose the spatial quality evaluation methods of elder-care facilities based on the virtual reality emotional measurement, which can support the establishment of effective spatial evaluation methods of elder-care services and elder-care facility design.
