Abstract

The ocean plays a vital role in urban development and living activities at Qingdao. It not only affects people's living habits, culture and urban spatial form, but also creates Qingdao characteristic waterfront and various characteristic public buildings. As a typical coastal city, Qingdao has great research significance on these characteristic public buildings. Through field survey, questionnaire survey and comparative study, the characteristics and existing problems of Qingdao waterfront were discovered, and the spatial characteristics of featured public buildings and the relationship between buildings and the ocean were analyzed based on the cases of featured public buildings around the waterfront. And from the history, scale, current situation and other details, especially from the bottom of the relationship and architectural space analysis of the spatial characteristics of public buildings and the relationship with the ocean.
