The abundance of plastic waste is one of the global environmental problems that should be solved urgently. The main problem of plastic waste is that it can not decompose naturally. In 2019, Indonesia produces about 77 million tons of garbage per year and will continue to increase is if it is not treated seriously. Responding to this environmental problem, architecture can offer a solution by processing waste into an alternative building material. This article aims to discuss eco-brick as a material that can be a solution to plastic garbage. Eco-Brick is a creative effort for handling plastic waste as the primary building material to substitute bricks. This study is a literature review using 21 sources on renewable materials to discuss selected materials' advantages and disadvantages, strengths, and examples. It is Eco-Brick compares with other renewable materials that can be used as substitutes for bricks, such as styrofoam brick, ash brick cane fiber, and ash sawdust. The study concluded that the Eco-Brick is a renewable building material that is more environmentally friendly, structurally strong and durable, and economical styrofoam compared to brick, ash brick cane fiber, and ash sawdust.
