Abstract

Naga community has two types of forest namely forbidden forest and sacred forest. The existence of these two areas can sustain the necessities of life of the Kampung Naga society for decades until now. The wide area both of the forests are proportional to the population and settlement that has never increased. The addition of the population is followed by the customary rules that take place in the local society as a form of balance among nature, society and sustainability. This research uses a qualitative approach by conducting in-depth interviews, direct observation to the field, and seeing the environmental impact of the phenomenon of the sustainable of the Kampung Naga society. Data collection was carried out by study of documentation and observation. Prior to the conclusion of this research, expert validation qualitative data in the fields of sociology and anthropology was conducted so that the data could be concluded as accurate. The results of this study revealed that there was integrity to traditional rules that were always passed down from generation to generation without changes. The population is adjusted to the support of nature itself. Finally, to sustain a quality and sustainable life.
