This paper takes a scientific research building in a university in the northern cold regions as the research object. Using DeST software to simulate the energy consumption of the exterior walls, exterior windows, roofs and envelope structures of existing buildings. It analyzes the annual load reduction and energy-saving rate of the building when different thermal insulation materials are used, and the energy-saving effect of the envelope structure under different material combinations is calculated. Based on the current green campus construction goals, and with reference to "Design Standards for Energy Conservation of Public Buildings", explore the best energy-saving renovation plan for the existing building envelope structure. which provides a reference for the improvement of the performance of the existing building envelope structure in universities.
