Abstract

In 2015, the United Nations put forward the construction goal of global sustainable development for 15 years. The plan aims to create a prosperous future for the planet. Since the plan is put forward, all countries have been committed to carrying out various actions to promote the realization of these goals, including the construction of green campuses, which is widely carried out around the world. The sustainable action of global green campuses aims to practice the sustainable development goals (SDGs) from the perspective of universities. At present, STARS (The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System), which is widely used in the world, puts forward specific construction requirements and evaluation indicators for 17 aspects of campus sustainability, in response to some SDGs. In this paper, Stanford, the university with the highest score of global green campus evaluated by STARS, is taken as a case study, and eight aspects of sustainable construction of its campus are introduced in detail. Through the analysis of its construction results, specific measures and implementation plans, this paper summarizes the action plans and shortcomings of its green campus. Its construction experience will be promoted in the world, in order to provide positive reference value for the realization of global SDGs.
