Abstract

Miho Museum is the work of the famous architect Ieoh Ming Pei, the unique location brings an unexpected atmosphere to the building. During the visit, the space of the whole building changes richly, the building volume disappears, and integrates with nature, which is the perfect combination of modern technology and aesthetics. As the embodiment of human high-level artistic spirit, excellent works of art need specific architectural space to display. As a special architectural type, art museums should not only undertake the function of displaying and collecting exhibits, but also provide a good spatial experience for visitors. This paper sorts out the architectural morphology theory, and the research methods of applying the architectural morphological theory, analyzes the Miho Museum from five Basic elements of architectural shape sense, color sense, texture sense, volume sense, place sense, and explores the corresponding characteristics of a good architectural design work.
