Abstract

China's Tibetan plateau region has the current situation and problems of harsh natural environment, shortage of conventional energy, regional remoteness and relatively lagging economic and technological development, but at the same time the local solar energy and other natural energy sources are abundant. Under such circumstances, local residents have long formed many energy-saving designs that help reduce the energy consumption of buildings themselves and make full use of natural energy. Taking Tongga Village in Dulong deqing District, Lhasa City, Tibetan Plateau as an example, this paper discusses how the residents of Tibetan Plateau region have designed their buildings in the cold Tibetan Plateau climate through site selection, building form, planar space organization, functional zoning, façade's floor height, walls, windows, and This paper studies and summarizes the energy-saving design through site selection, building form, plan space organization, functional zoning, façade's floor height, walls, windows, roof shape, etc.
