The current achievement on the public water supply provision in Kota Metro is very low. Currently, it only covers around five percent of the population. Apart from the customer's preference issue, one of the causes of this situation is the absenteeism of the comprehensive planning in this sector. Furthermore, calculating future demand is one of the essential aspects in the planning process but Kota Metro has not done this stage in managing its public water service provision. This paper tried to elaborate on the demand forecasting issue of the domestic water need in Kota Metro under various demographic scenarios. It is important to involve this aspect considering the fact that population growth keeps increasing dynamically in this city. Moreover, the scenarios would be combined with several calculation methods in the water demand projection. Indeed. l statistical projection techniques were highly employed in this study to generate a planning scenario based on the population projection and the water demand calculation methods. The results could be utilized as an input to develop the public water sector in the case study area and it expectantly could be generalized to broader scales.
