jailcd2020103: Passive Design Strategy in Green Building Roof Design in Taiwan

Abstract

Roof is an important part of building envelope, and roof energy saving is also an important factor to reduce the overall energy consumption of the building. The passive design strategy of roof can reduce the overall energy consumption of the building, reduce carbon emissions, and save energy under the condition of ensuring human comfort in different climatic area. Through the analysis of passive design strategies of green building roofs in Taiwan, it is found that the commonly used technical means are beneficial to construct low cost, high-efficiency and low-energy sustainable buildings in hot and humid climate. Furthermore, the inductive technical means can be used to transform the roofs of local residential buildings.
