Abstract

Many problems arise with the development of the city. For example, the increase of the number of cars leading to the increase of road load and traffic congestion; the imbalance of urban expansion leading to the generation of many villages in the city; waste and overuse of energy cause environmental pollution. These problems are also possible for some developing countries in the future. Based on the case study of different countries and cities in Asia, this paper explores how to solve and alleviate the current urban problems from two aspects of architectural design and urban planning by means of low-carbon design. In the aspect of architectural design, it mainly analyzes how to combine architectural design with new lifestyle and how to apply low-carbon materials and construction technology in architectural design through examples; in the aspect of urban planning, it mainly analyzes the application of new urbanism combined with low-carbon urban design in the city. The ultimate purpose of this paper is to study how to use the concept of low-carbon design to make people who are living in the city have a better life, and how to make the city develop better in the future.
