Abstract

In order to adapt to the development trend of modern technology and green life, increasing digital technologies are shifting from theory and research to application or practice. The development of digital technology has brought technological innovation in various industries. Digital technologies such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and numerical control processing are increasingly being applied in real life. At the same time, more sophisticated construction methods and increasing labor costs reflect the urgency of the developments in this field. Based on the above, this article attempts to explore how to apply digital technology to the architectural design and turn digital construction into reality. A wide of building materials and digital technologies are forming a variety of combinations. We tried to use a traditional Chinese craft material with a long history -- clay, combining with digital technology to create a new type of building form and apply it to the actual building design to solve practical problems, which is more in line with low-carbon design philosophy. Through the analysis of the property of the material itself, the feasibility analysis of the structural performance, and the operation of the digital robotic construction, we explored the fabrication approach of the clay structure.
