Abstract

With the development of artificial intelligence and numerical control processing, digital construction has brought not only new production conditions, but also new changes to architectural design and construction methods. More and more digital construction methods have been applied in the process of building design and construction. The concept of digital construction provides possibilities of applying robots instead of human beings to complete more complex and difficult tasks. Simultaneously, traditional construction materials can be transformed with new architectural language through digital processing and conversion. These changes in the application of new technologies in various industries reflect the urgency of them. Thus, to some extent, digital construction is playing an important role of the construction of "smart cities". Right now, digital construction research is no longer limited to traditional materials. Various unconventional materials are gradually being used in construction. Compared with traditional glass, plexiglass has obvious advantages in terms of impact resistance and light guiding properties. Based on the above, this article attempted to explore the digital constructing process of plexiglass and its application possibility in architectural design through the analysis of plexiglass properties. Finally, we explored the possibilities of designing with robotic arms and the possibilities of plexiglass applications.
