Abstract

This article is the development of previous study about polyethylene waste reinforce concrete for panel application that elaborate physical and mechanical properties of the panel. It is showed the possible development as prefabricated housing components that affordable and environmentally friendly. The product was developed to help Indonesia government in housing provision for low income society. It carries two main idea, firstly, to solve environment problem that caused by plastic waste. Plastic waste causes serious damage to the environment during the production process, during its use and during the disposal process. As one of the building material innovations, Plastic Composite Panel is a technological innovation that uses the method of recycling plastic waste for composite cement panel mixtures. The second idea is to solve housing backlog that rising a million units that caused by the speed of housing supply is not in line with the growth of society's needs. The method of providing pre-fabricated houses is one approach that can be done in accelerating the process of housing construction and cutting labor requirements. In advanced this article will elaborate the prefabricated housing design proposal that suitable for Plastic Composite Panel application, it is expected able to reduce the construction costs.
