Abstract

Low Carbon tourism is creating alternatives for tourists to learn and participate in activities that help reduce carbon emissions which are the cause of global warming. The concept of low carbon tourism is to create awareness and participation of tourists to make travel with environmental mindfulness, help to distribute income and help increase economic security for local people which causes sustainability in all three dimensions such as economy, society, and environment. In Thailand, Thai people's way of life is bound to the river from the past to present that creates many waterfront communities. This study then aims to focus the components of low carbon tourism in the Bang Noi waterfront community to promote low carbon tourism. The results showed that the Bang Noi waterfront community has low carbon tourism elements that are more appropriate for promoting low carbon tourism as well as participation in every sector to enable the Bang Noi waterfront community to become a low carbon tourism model community so that it can be further expanded in other areas and able to attract both Thai and foreign tourists to lead to quality and sustainable tourism.
