Abstract

Khartoum 2 is a bustling district of Khartoum the capital of Sudan, It's a central hub for the tri state capital, it suffers from a terrible eco state due to the fact that it's filled with restaurants and shops that don't handle recycling their trash properly, narrow street combined with lack of parking space create unnecessary traffic congestion, but being one of the oldest districts that is home to some of the oldest shops and surrounded by an abundance of international embassies and NGO's, Khartoum 2 could spearhead the eco friendly walk able city module that this research is aiming to build, the research is built around the critique of the current eco status quo and providing a sustainable alternative which will not only improve the quality of life to it's inhabitants and surrounding areas but it will boost the income generated by the micro economy, Creating a safe outdoor environment for children and adults alike, switching to sustainable alternatives will create a positive feed back loop for all users and the echoing effect could lead to a paradigm shift in urban planning policies that in turn guide the socio economic growth of the country.
