Abstract

Nowadays, the current trend of investment in real estate has been increased drastically. They leads to high competition in the market price, especially in residential buildings. This will bring result in the rising cost of building materials, labor cost, and transportation fee, and other related construction costs. As a result, builder and design stake holders need to find a way to manage and control the construction cost of the project more effectively. Therefore, this research aims to study the processes of managing construction projects in using Innovative Value Engineering ideas, focusing on high-rise residential buildings. The Value Engineering seems to be a generic term, but this research will focus on the most innovative and effective way. This research is the exploration and study of the processes and procedures of the project to reach the highest goal of Value Engineering. The comparative analysis of the impact occurring in the construction management will be performed. The data collection in cost, time and quality of construction projects will be conducted via interviewing construction stakeholders involved in projects. The building design and construction contractors will find ways to communicate over effective ideas to save cost, time, and better quality of construction projects, and make construction the most efficient way to operate and build. The outcome of innovative ideas are worth the cost and environment impact as possible. It can minimize the resources used and unnecessary wastes effectively and achieve the highest benefits.
