Abstract

As urban public infrastructures play increasingly important roles in social life, the core tasks have shifted towards research and design functionalities during the city development processes. The evolution of digital city has become an inevitable trend for the future plans. However, digital techniques are indispensable for the establishment of a digital city. The fundamental definitions and contents of urban public infrastructures should be clarified. Furthermore, the perspectives and limitations of current situations should be examined. The design principles would be proposed through the analysis of digital transportations, digital information facilities, digital services and digital entertainment facilities.
