Abstract

The Hibikinada Area, on the North side of Kitakyushu city is an island with only one bridge that connects to the mainland. The mainland which is currently under the rapid development of industrial complexes had its carbon footprint raised to an emergency level. The mentioned undeveloped island is therefore an appropriate area that should be used to combat with this Carbon crisis. As Japan has a long and rich tradition of agriculture, I intend to make the whole island self-sufficient and focus mainly on agriculture. This will solve the high CO2 problems that arouse from the industrial parks as well as provide a good food source that supports sustainable living for the inhabitants.
