Abstract

After the rapid development and rapid urban construction, the protection and reuse of the old buildings will become the first things, and that will gradually become the mainstream in the construction industry. At the same time, the transformation of old buildings will become the main direction in energy saving, land-saving and water-saving under the influence of the green energy-saving environment. 
This paper regards the staircase transformation of the residential quarters as the core, combines with the strengthening and construction the of building body and periphery structures, as well as the adjustment and utilization of each space to solve the problems of the old residences such as the poor use function, high energy consumption and low efficiency and timewornperiphery structures. In this paper, the common problems of old communities are solved with “green” approaches from an existing district of Dalian City, and the majority of the macro issuesof the north districts.
