jailcd2015039: Research on Sustainability in Traffic Space of Rural Residence in Southern Liaoning of China

Abstract

With the speeding up of the modernization, new rural construction becomes a hot topic of social economy in our country. But as the material basis of new countryside, the construction quantity and demands for rural residence is still growing. Rural residential traffic space is always closely linked with natural environment, and can be divided into three levels; exterior traffic space – which has direct contact with the natural environment, courtyard traffic space – is seen as a transitional space, and indoor traffic space. But the spatial level has been decreased during the large-scale rural residential construction in recent years. And the law of development of the rural residence is broken because of blind and excessive pursuit of urbanization. This article is based on the survey of rural residence constructed in different ages in southern Liaoning of China to elaborate basic characteristics of rural residential traffic space. According to the relationship of behavior characteristics of rural residents, daily activities, and the changes of rural residential traffic space, this paper gives an analysis of adaptability of the rural residential traffic space method and offers a referential proposal for building rural residence.
