jailcd2015041: Agritektur, Place for Interaction toward Local Food Security in Indonesia

Abstract

In Indonesia year by year increase the total of population in the country, one of big problem will be faced is about food security, how the country could provide the food to whole population. Nowadays Indonesia still import food from other country because cannot provide their need by local food and local agriculture, that’s mean unsustainable food and add more carbon foot prints. The condition happened because of economic improvement, the people need better quality and higher quantity of food. Moreover image of farmers in Indonesia that facing with bad stereotype: uneducated, poor, plebeian, and retarded. It cause the farmers unconfident with their job and they leaving their job, then no young generation of farmers. In other hand group of young people of Bandung care about the problem and they want to change image of farmers and secure food security, named Agritektur. Their vision is to change agriculture future of Indonesia, they has moto: think globally and eat locally. Even more they want to connect urban community and rural community by providing places for interaction in their business program Parappa and Camp on Farm (COF). By provide good places for interaction they did sustainable business model that step by step will bring better future of food security in Indonesia.
