Abstract

Urban green spaces are universally valued to be essential for the livability and vitality of a city. As global climate change threatens the structure and function of urban areas and natural disasters occur increasingly frequently, it becomes more and more important to regulating urban green spaces planning and design to accommodate the challenges of climate change and constant taking place disasters. By analyzing the present the problems in planning and design of green space in disaster prevention in Chinese cities under this circumstance and the existing studies on green space system planning, the paper discusses the role and mechanism of urban green space system facing climate change, and promote the strategies of urban green spaces planning and design.
