Currently the issue of climate change and its associated impact is becoming the major concern in the world. Ethiopia is one the country experiencing adverse climate change impact. The negative impacts of climate change due to extreme events are enviable unless measures taken to become resilient. Due to this reason Ethiopian government is one of the countries which show interest to become climate resilient economy. Climate resilient economy is an economy which is protected from climate related shocks and weather stresses. This enables a country to maintain economic growth and well-being of people with progressive growth without any destruction by climate change impacts. Ethiopia economy is highly dependent on agricultural sector which contribute a significant amount of total growth domestic product (GDP). The urban and sub-urban rain-fed agricultural activity of Ethiopia plays a major role in economy and provision of jobs for people. The sector sensitivity to climate events due to erratic rainfall raises a concern of farmers’ resilience towards climate risks/threats. This paper consists of two parts. One is to introduce Ethiopian challenges to become climate change resilient socially, economically and environmentally. The other is to analyze the relationship between Climate Change, Conservation Agriculture (CA) and urban planning taking the challenges above into consideration. Consequently it becomes clear that the holistic consideration is essential between agriculture and urban planning to make the policy more effective.
