Abstract

A lot of bicycles are used as means of commuting school and the intramural movement at the university. It is very convenient as a traffic terminal of the short distance movement after the bicycle is simple, and being cheap. However, by the spread of recent rapid bicycles, I invite danger of the contact with the obstruction of the emergency vehicle at the time of disasters, a walker and the car, the aggravation of the school member scene by the over-centralization of the bicycle and disorderly parking by the incompleteness of the bicycle use manner. Therefore I investigated measures of the bicycle parking lot environment that the university performed for use actual situation and it of the bicycle parking lot user in the university in this study and was intended that I examined bicycle use environment maintenance technique in the future university and measures, and documents a hearing questionnaire of the University of Kitakyushu (Hibikino Campus) for a case study. For problems of the bicycle parking lot environment of the University of Kitakyushu (Hibikino Campus), it is the use as the bicycle parking lot of "the multipurpose open space". The gymnasium which is adjacent in "the multi-purpose open space" is appointed in "a large-scale planned refuge", and the multipurpose open space has an important role at a disaster as a refuge course. Therefore it may make the obstruction neighbor of the refuge, the damage big at a disaster to use "a multi-purpose open space" as a bicycle parking lot. Therefore I propose that prohibit the use as the bicycle parking lot of "the multi-purpose open space" and get the enlargement of the bicycle parking lot and maintain the access route to the other bicycle parking lots to promote the use of the bicycle parking lot that there is to number. In the enlargement of the bicycle parking lot, we am good with a temporarily-like thing to harden the ground with asphalt, because it is not important for parking user to have facilities as like stands roof. About the maintenance of the access route, measures to install a passage for the bicycle in the point that is in danger of a road is not got ready, and coming into contact with a walker are necessary.
