Abstract

Nowadays, population explode is one of the most aching problems in many developing country including Vietnam. Increasing a large number of people over a short period make city’s space smaller and smaller, especially public space, woodland, green park and playground. In the city center, encroaching playground in order to enlarge total floor area is commonplace. It’s easy to see this encroachment in many old apartment built in 1960 (Soviet Union standard). Investigating some Hanoi’s old apartments pointed out that apartments will have no playgrounds in the near future. They may change into dirty markets, food stores, parking lots, perhaps.  This project aims to renovate Kim Lien apartment’s playgrounds losing its basic functions like entertainment and gradually turning into a mess. There are three stages: Stage 1: Connecting playgrounds. Presently, Kim Lien apartment has 7 playgrounds but each has different functions. Stage 2: Design: Design an effective, eco and safe module that can be used for these playgrounds. Stage 3: Managing operation: Local authority’s management and people’s awareness keep these playgrounds operate more effectively.
