jailcd2016025: An Exploratory Analysis of Kitakyushu Offce Response toDynamic Electricity Pricing

Abstract

In 2010, Kitakyushu Yahatahigashi area inapan was selected as one of the four smart community creationprojects by the Ministry of Economy, Tradeand Industry. Smart meters are installed in 225 households forlow-voltage use and 50 offices for high-voltage use in that district. This paper selects one kind of officee the characteristic of Japanese dynamic pricing (DP) model ofbuilding as a representative aims to introducoffice side.Moreover, it investigates the energy consumption of target building. Using hourly load datafect of dynamic pricing system on the energy saving of officecollected from smart meter, it estimates the eduring the DP time block. In addition, this paper also discussesconcludes the load reduction for participantsthe situation of demand response of officecustomers according to the related questionnaire made byKitakyushu city, presents that giving considerition to both energy saving and economic benefit is an essentialin office building.
