Abstract

The presence of industrial sectors around the settlement should be a driving force of the economy. Undang-Undang Dasar (The Constitution of Republic of Indonesia) Point 5 of 1984 in article 3 states that one of the objectives of industrial development is to improve the prosperity and welfare of the people in a fair and equitable by utilizing natural resources and/or cultivation, as well as to maintain the balance and sustainability of environment. However, it caused much pollutions which is growing rapidly in developing countries. Some cases that occur in various areas, many industrial presence cause new problems, one of them is environmental pollution which caused by the waste from the industries. This study was conducted to determine the textile waste processing system in the settlements area around the industries, either independently or with the help of other parties. The study population is the residents of RW 02 and RW 12 in kampong Cigondewah Kaler. Samples carried out by random sampling technique that aimed to anyone who research teams met at the time of the collecting data. The study found that the residents process the textile waste only by sorting the fabric remnants and then sell it to another party.
