Abstract

This article uses green-building humanity concept. Through the analysis of spatial arrangement, architectural form and construction techniques of vernacular dwellings in Guanzhong Region, and based on the reflection of ecological thinking and eco-technology combined with modern building technology, the article proposes a technology prototype for the Guanzhong traditional vernacular dwellings that corresponds with the concept of green-building humanity. Meanwhile, it discusses some ecological principles and strategies that are suitable for the development of Guanzhong vernacular dwellings. At present, vernacular dwellings in Guanzhong area is facing common and pressing problems of "modern, ecological and regional鈥? How to keep the regional characteristics of Guanzhong vernacular dwellings, pay attention to energy saving and improvement of ecological, and, at the same time, improve living conditions, raise living standards, becomes an important problem we face. The narrow courtyard, shed roof, immature soil wall, the heated Kang and the earth stove, the natural ventilation all complies with local climate, which is a crystallization of ancient ecological wisdom. They will be of enormous significance in the coming decades after reasonable improvement.
