Abstract

Taiwan is surrounded by the sea due to its geographic location. It is an extremely humid country with an annual average humidity of 78%. Therefore, these water vapors will have a great impact on the structure of the building. Whatever the material is damaged by termites due to too much moisture or the wet environment causes the entire structure to lose its stability. These disasters have been continuously occurring. Therefore, this study is to explore to show out of how the common building structures display in combating humid climates. By collecting relevant literature and making data analysis, we can find out the damage caused by the wet environment for building structural materials and how to prevent and solve disasters. And find out which of a building structure for Taiwan's humid climate is the best choice. After completing this research, it shows that the most suitable structural material for Taiwan is concrete. Choosing to develop appropriate materials can make the building the age of use and the quality of living are maximized, and also many disasters can be reduced. Maybe in the future humid problems will no longer be a stumbling block to the progress of Taiwan's construction industry.
