Abstract

The Distributed Energy Resource (DER) system has been developed and applied for decades, systems are facing the problem of system reliability maintenance and replacement. Maintenance is crucial to keep a component or a system in the best and most reliable for a required period. A failure of a component may cause a subsystem or whole system are failing, therefore, to ensure the reliability of the system is important for the operation and maintenance of system. In this paper, the maintenance and failure data of the DER system in Kitakyushu Science and Research Park (KSRP) were investigated and analyzed. FMEA approach is used to analyze the failure mode. The result shows that the high level PM will increase the cost, but it can reduce the failure. However, the PM actions will increase the total cost of maintenance; therefore, the cost evaluation should be performed on RPN analysis when the maintenance strategy is optimized in the future.
