The issue of preservation of architectural heritage in Vietnam has always been very complicated, the method of preserving the status quo (with restoration) is widely applied by the government but it is not always appropriate in every case. Set in the ancient village of Duong Lam in the period of urbanization - a typical example of the mismatch of this preservation method, the project is a completely new perspective on an old problem. Based on studies of Deconstructivist characteristics in architecture, the project aims to be a more daring solution, to balance the benefits received by people from heritage preservation. Develop forgotten communication spaces into public spaces to create new benefits to serve the lives of people in the present and future, develop tourism and raise awareness of heritage conservation in local.
