Abstract

Fusuijing Building, which is "Z" shaped building of 25,000 square meters, locates in Xicheng District  surround Baita Temple of Beijing Province. It is the earliest residential building with elevators in Beijing,  built in 1958, is the product of the Great Leap Forward. Fusuijing is a social experiment of idealistic lifestyle. With the transformation from material production to immaterial production, Fusuijing needs to start a new  exploration journey to seek the significance of existence. Nowadays, with the freedom and mobility of  immaterial workers'profession, people have a new definition of public and private. The revival ofFusuijing  is based on people's public and private needs in the era of non-material production. By defining the link  between work and life, the aim is to create a new idealistic social practice. Through the interruption and  recreation of the continuous wall of symbols, three spatial modes representing the strength and weakness of  mobility are formed. From bottom to top, they are the open large space flow mode, the semi-public mode  combining work and life, and the private living space mode.
