Abstract

With the acceleration of Chinese urbanization process, a large number of impervious surface surfaces have  replaced the original ecologically permeable surface, which has led to an increase in surface rainwater runoff.  At the same time, the rapid growth of the population has also led to a large accumulation of pollutants. After  being washed by the rainwater, these pollutants are discharged into the water body through the rainwater pipe  network, resulting in the deterioration of the water quality of the receiving water body and the formation of more   serious   non-point   source   pollution.   There   are   many   successful   experiences   in   the   international  community that draw on the low-impact development and construction model. According to the requirements  of relevant policies  and  regulations  and  the  engineering  practice  of low-impact  development  of rainwater  systems, China has summarized the plan suitable for promoting the construction of sponge cities in China.  Sponge City refers to strengthening the urban planning and construction management, giving full play to the  effects of absorption, storage and slow release of rainwater by buildings, roads, green spaces and water systems, effectively  controlling  rainwater  runoff,  realizing  natural  accumulation,  natural  infiltration  and  natural  purification.  The  way  the  city develops. Rainwater is infiltrated, depleted,  purified, and reused by these  “sponge bodies” . Finally, the remaining part of the runoff passes through the pipe network and the pumping  station, which can effectively raise the standard of urban drainage system and reduce the pressure on the city.  The purpose of this study is to summarize the advantages of the sponge city after the completion of the pilot,  and to analyze the road more suitable for the development of sponge cities in China. The research methods  mainly include consulting related papers, collecting historical data, chart analysis, and conducting field visits  to some pilots. The result of this research is that the construction of the domestic sponge city pilot is not very  complete, but the advantage is that this concept is combined according to the characteristics of hydrogeology  and  water  resources  in  different  regions,  realizing  the  storage,  filtration  and  purification  of  rainwater,  effectively improving the problem of urban guilt.
