Abstract

As an important part of the city, the historic streets bear the local traditional culture, which contains high  research and tourist value. Due to the influence of many factors such as historical factors, economical factors, and the lack of planning of historical streets, the micro-climate environment tends to deteriorate. These  districts are confused in architectural layout, inconvenient in traffic, lack of overall organization, and there  are many environmental problems. The revival of historical  streets is closely related to their space and  environment, and a good spatial environment is the basis for the revival. This paper takes the historical and  cultural  streets  of  Beilin  in  Xi'an   as  an  example.  On  the  basis   of  detailed  field  investigation,  the  micro-climate environment of residential mixed historical streets is simulated and analyzed by envi-met  environment analysis software. Then the spatial morphology of historical streets is quantitatively analyzed by  using  spatial  syntax  Depthmap  spatial  analysis  software.  This  paper  proposes   an   improved  method  combining the improvement of microclimate comfort and the renewal of streets space, aiming at providing a  novel idea for the protection and development of historic streets from the perspective of the integration of streets space and function.
