Abstract

With the rising of global temperature, people consume more energy to use air conditioning systems to maintain a comfortable indoor thermal environment. Roof sunshade will effectively reduce the building indoor temperature and reduce the building cooling and heating load. Also, roof is an important part of multi-story building PV integration design. The manuscript takes multi-story residential buildings in Xi'an as the research object, simulates the thermal and energy characteristics of the buildings by EnergyPlus, studies the influence characteristics of PV sunshade with different angles and densities on the internal and external surface temperature of the building roof and the indoor temperature, analyzes different setting modes of PV sunshade oriented to enhance the power generation or to reduce the building cooling and heating load. By calculating the annual electricity consumption and photovoltaic power generation of the building under different scenarios, the influence of the roof photovoltaic sunshade on the building air conditioning load is clarified and the design method of the roof photovoltaic sunshade adapted to the Xi'an is proposed.
