Abstract

Streets and alleys are closely connected with citizens' daily life, carrying many cultural forms and being an important carrier of urban culture. In the renewal of urban streets and alleys, there are common problems such as homogenization and lack of regional characteristics that affect the vitality of streets and alleys. This paper takes the Caita Art Street in Shenyang as an example, and through the design research method, combined with Baidu heat map, site research and analysis, questionnaire survey and other means, to understand the characteristics of street and alley vitality and the public's demand for shaping street and alley space, from the perspective of regional culture and the linear characteristics of the street and alley, the main street entrances, unused space, and landscape along the street of the target site are renovated and designed, and explore the design strategy to enhance the regional cultural characteristics of the street and alley space. The design strategy is to provide the public with a walkable street space to activate the urban space vitality.
