Abstract

Kampung Naga is a traditional Indonesian village located in West Java that has been recognized for its inhabitants who are very connected to and dependent on nature in their lifestyle, the culture of utilizing natural elements is applied in many aspects of life, including in the construction of homes. The village is built on a slope, and the houses are constructed with several materials, including clay, and wood. The indigenous community cultivates local wood independently in the long term, and in its use in buildings, it is also categorized based on the type of wood. The behavior of the Kampung Naga community that has been implemented for a long time is closely tied to the sustainable concept. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an international call to action that seeks to eradicate poverty, safeguard the environment, and guarantee that everyone lives in peace and prosperity. This paper will discuss what Kampung Naga looks like from the standpoint of the Sustainable Development Goals. Overall, Kampung Naga is designed to be energy efficient, and responsive to the local climate and cultural context. It demonstrates that it is possible to create buildings which sustainable and culturally appropriate.
