Abstract

Increasing urbanization gives a direct impetus to the expansion of the urban area. The urban structure becomes more diversified with the development of urbanization. To solver the fuzzy dichotomy problem in the study of urban structure, the researchers launched the World Urban Database and Portal Tool (WUDAPT) to use remote sensing to classify the urbans around the world. This research takes Tokyo as examples to identify the urban structure with the help of Local Climate Zones (LCZ) Classification System based on the remote sensing image of Landsat 8 combined with satellite maps.
