Radiant cooling, a passive cooling method, is based on the thermal radiation from ground objects to outer space, that is, through reflection and radiation to dissipate the excess heat, so as to improve the system performance, without the input of energy. Recent studies show that radiant refrigeration has great potential in many fields. Most of the research on radiant refrigeration focuses on equipment performance and material development, and only a few involve its practical application in cooling buildings. As a new green refrigeration technology, radiant refrigeration is an important way to achieve the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality". Considering the potential of radiant refrigeration in building energy saving, this paper reviews the current research and development status of radiant refrigeration technology, reviews the five main challenges faced by the application of radiant refrigeration in buildings, and introduces materials, application methods and application of radiant refrigeration in the building field in detail by combining the principle, current situation and advantages of radiant refrigeration technology. Finally the development, challenges and improvement of radiant refrigeration in buildings are summarized. In order to improve the understanding of the application of radiant refrigeration technology in the field of building energy conservation, and provide ideas for further research.Downloads
