jailcd2023040: A review of urban outdoor thermal environment research in dry and hot regions

Abstract

Dry and hot regions have significant climatic characteristics and harsh environment with high temperature, drought, little rain and frequent sandstorm weather, which seriously reduces outdoor comfort. To alleviate the pressure of urban thermal environment caused by hot weather and improve the quality of urban living environment. In this paper, 159 articles related to outdoor thermal environment in dry heat regions published from 1990 to 2022 were analyzed by bibliometric method using web of science database as the research base. The current situation, research hotspots and possible future trends in this research area are analyzed, hoping to provide some theoretical support for outdoor thermal environment research in dry and hot regions.
