Abstract

Today, the term "solo economy" or "singles economy" has become a hot topic. With an increasing prevalence of bachelorism, divorce, living with considerable stress from work, or facing widowhood in senior years, people begin to reconsider the idea of "residence pattern", with a particular focus on these one-person families, thus leading to a diverse imagination building on the traditional residence patterns. However, being single beyond the marriageable age is generally perceived as a social problem in conventional society. Hence, by researching this issue, we expect more people to understand that being single is just a life choice. Moreover, housing is a basic need for living. There is a demand for housing for nuclear families or one-person families. Based on this context, we hope to provide one-person families with various possibilities and to design a living environment where people can live individually without isolating themselves from social lives.
