Abstract

China’s “3060 double carbon goal” has clearly defined the future low carbon development trend of the construction industry. As China’s urbanization process has entered to the era of stock renewal, the old communities of high stock have greater demand for carbon emission reduction, therefore the renovation for low carbon in old communities plays a big part in the realization of “3060 double carbon goal”. In this article, through literature review, sample comparison and data analysis, a study was conducted on the classification routes and adaptive mechanisms of carbon reduction strategies for the renovation of old communities: (1) The technical routes for the renovation of existing old communities are classified, and five classification routes are identified. The Qianjiang community in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province is selected as a renovation sample; (2) The carbon emission factor method is adopted to establish the carbon emission impact calculating model for the renovation of old community, and the software Design Builder is used to simulate the energy consumption data of the sample to calculate the carbon emissions; (3) The carbon reduction efficiency of the five technical routes are calculated, and the adaptability of the five different technical routes to the carbon reduction for the renovation of old communities is determined via the comparison. Based on the above three points, three adaptive mechanisms of carbon reduction strategies for the renovation of old community are proposed in the article, in order to provide a quantitative basis and judgement criteria for the formulation of community renovation strategies and the selection of technical routes.
