Abstract

With the growing global demand for renewable energy and sustainable development, building integrated photovoltaics, as an innovative form of integrating building and photovoltaic (BIPV) technologies, is receiving increasing attention. The research literature on BIPV was econometrically analyzed using Web of Science Core Collection database as a literature search engine and CiteSpace scientific knowledge mapping software. The results show that the research literature has shown a staged growth in the last two decades, with relevant
journals covering multiple categories and extensive international research collaborations. The research areas cover a wide range of directions such as PV materials, performance enhancement, energy management and efficiency, technology integration, system design, etc., and are characterized by cross-disciplinary integration. The development lineage ranges from preliminary technology exploration, system simulation and optimization, to the current focus on new materials and intelligent research. In the future, the integration of machine learning
and artificial intelligence into system design, new materials to promote innovation in the discipline, as well as research on building adaptability and environmental interaction will lead the development of BIPV in a smarter
and sustainable direction
