jailcd2024035 Application of Life Cycle Assessment in Prefabricated Building Energy Efficiency
Keywords:
Life cycle assessments, Prefabricated building, Carbon emissionAbstract
Reducing carbon emissions, limiting energy use and improving energy efficiency in buildings are essential goals in the context of climate change and sustainable development. Prefabricated buildings, which feature rapid prefabrication, flexible assembly, high structural flexibility, and high recycling capacity, can meet these goals. This paper systematically reviews relevant papers from three scientifically reliable databases: Web of Science, ScienceDirect, and IEEE Explore. It discusses the current research status of carbon emissions at each stage of the life cycle of prefabricated buildings, summarizes the calculation methods of carbon emissions at each stage, reviews some innovative trends in prefabricated buildings, and presents some recommendations for energy efficiency based on prefabricated buildings. The findings of this paper can provide valuable references for stakeholders, governments and policymakers and inform researchers and practitioners in the field about the current status and trends of prefabricated buildings.Downloads
