Abstract

City development as an activity center, a service center, and an economic center gives impact on the growthof population and density. It causes settlement development sprawl to suburban areas. Antapani is one of theneighborhoods in Bandung planned by government to accommodate population growth. However, nowadays, there are many physical changes in Antapani that impacts the social neighborhood quality. This paper aims to identify the principles of urban neighborhood regeneration in Antapani based on social driving force to improve the quality of environment and community in order to make Antapani become a lively and vibrant neighborhood. This paper uses descriptive qualitative method. In order to identify neighborhood regeneration principles, this paper uses two types of data which are primary and secondary data. Methods of data collection are interview, observation, and mapping. Urban neighborhood principles in Antapani are that the residential housing must be integrated to all functions in neighborhood area, to create integrated residential andcommercial area, integrated network, integrated functions and activities that spread in the whole area, to create and vitalize public space, to build social, public, and supporting facilities. Public park must become a center of neighborhood activities and also must be able to integrate all functions and encourage community to interact pleasantly and do activities safely outside.
