Abstract

Many cities in the world, including cities in Indonesia, have undergone rapid urbanization over the last few decades, generally, this had led to an increase in paved area and reduction in green spaces which contributes to uncertainties of future water supply. Change toward a more sustainable development by employing watersensitive approach is required to address this issue. In most of the developed countries, alternative stormwater management approaches have been developed to mitigate the impact of urbanization and conserve the natural water cycle. In Bandung, some measures pertaining to sustainability have been employed in the recent years, however, they were employed as an individual action without proper coordination as a comprehensive measure, particularly pertaining to urban stormwater management and water resources. This paper attempts to identify the common water-sensitive measures and prioritize it in the context of Bandung. Through a critical review of literature, existing water-sensitive approaches were studied. Subsequently, selected features based on relevancy to the context of Bandung are extracted and analyzed using analytical hierarchy process (AHP) method. The result can be used to formulate relevant water-sensitive strategies to be applied in Bandung
