jailcd2024051: Experimental Studies of High-Speed Airflow Direction to Head on Human Perception
Keywords:

Indoor environments exert a progressively conspicuous influence on both human well-being and productivity. However, the centralized HVAC system's overall air supply fails to meet the diverse needs of each individual. The study investigates how head-directed airflow, within a localized air supply context, affects participants' thermal sensation and comfort. Findings suggest that head-directed airflow has the potential to lower Mean Skin Temperature (MST), although variations across airflow directions are not significant. Participants reported a subjective sensation of cooler temperatures when exposed to front airflow. Participants gave higher thermal comfort vote of top airflow. When assessing head-directed airflow, it is imperative not only to evaluate its cooling efficacy but also to contemplate how varying airflow directions may impact human perception.Downloads
